Henry’s law states that the amount of gas dissolved in a liquid or tissue is proportional to the partial pressure of that gas in contact with the liquid or tissue. This is the basis for increased tissue oxygen tensions with HBO treatment.

Why Is Oxygen So Important?

Oxygen is colourless, gas that makes up about 21 percent of the atmosphere. It is essential to life for two reasons.
– Oxygen is one of the body’s basic building blocks. All of the body’s major components – water, protein, fat & carbohydrate contain oxygen. – Oxygen helps bring about certain chemical reactions within the bodythat result in energy production.

Why Whole Body Cryotherapy?

Mounting interest in using low temperatures in clinical practice has been observed during last few years. Systematic extension of life expectancy and thus aging of the population have resulted in higher number of patients with mobility disorders. Many therapies, such as drug therapy, are either costly or generates side effects. That is why more and more patients are eager to try alternative methods of treatment.

The advantages of whole body cryotherapy (systemic cryotherapy):?

  • Significantly improves patients mobility
  • No complications and side effects
  • Relatively low costs

The number of clinics and professional sport centre’s offering whole body cryotherapy is regularly increasing. Today there are about 200 cryochambers all around Europe (most of them function in Poland and Germany).

The first patented cryochamber

with a cooling retention system was designed in Poland by Wiesław Brojek from Metrum Cryoflex. Nowadays there are sixty synthetic air-powered cryo-chambers operating in the world (Poland, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Slovakia)

Whole body cryotherapy treatment?

Whole-body cryotherapy procedures are based on subjecting whole body of a patient to cryogenic temperatures action. They are performed in CRYOCHAMBERS. Cryochamber is a large, closed, stationary and computerized medical device, using synthetic air for cooling air inside a chamber. It enables to stay a few patients at the same time in a proper chamber at temperature below – 120°C. Time of treatment is only 3 min. Whole cycle consist of 20 procedures taken day by day. Immediately after the procedure, patients undergo kinesiotherapy lasting 30 – 60 minutes, including individual exercises.
